DraftSeason: Matt, what would you say is the strongest aspect of
your game?
Matt: The strongest aspect of my game is my size and my
consistency and power.
DraftSeason: What are some areas where you could improve your
game?
Matt: I need to improve my speed and endurance.
DraftSeason: You have spent time playing both guard and tackle,
is there one you prefer, or one that you see yourself playing at the next level?
Matt: I have played tackle my whole life until recently. At the next level I would see myself as a guard. I have more of a guard physique.
DraftSeason: We have seen some NFL lineman getting rewarded with some big time contracts lately, do you feel offensive lineman are starting to get the credit they deserve?
Matt: I think in a way, the appreciation for offensive lineman is growing but it will never be as much as it should be.
DraftSeason: If you could play any other position on the gridiron besides guard/tackle which would it be and why?
Matt: If i was going to play another position it would either be middle linebacker or fullback. Fullback
because your still a blocker but you get to handle the ball sometimes. Linebacker because you get to run around in space and get a running start to knock a guys head off.
DraftSeason: What can we expect from the Cornhuskers this year?
Matt: You can expect great things from the Huskers this year. We have alot of returning starters on offense and the offensive line is really meshing well. Probably as good as I've ever seen here. People can
expect a different game at the Big Twelve championship.
DraftSeason: Who was the best defensive lineman you’ve ever done
battle with on game day?
Matt: The best ever is Adam Carriker, but on game day, I would have to say it was (Tim)
Crowder, the d-end from Texas.
DraftSeason: Finally Matt, we have to ask, what is up with that
beard of yours?
Matt: Well the beard is something that came about because of being at the Air Force Academy. I had to shave all the time. I decided that I would go from one extreme to the other. I don't see the beard staying much longer though. It's time for it to be cut off.
