Sammy Watkins NFL Draft Prospect Profile

Wide Receiver | Clemson

sammy-watkinsWatkins has been one of the bigger names at the wide receiver position in college football since his freshman year. Has good frame and speed and can be very dangerous in the open field. Burst onto the scene as a freshman putting up 80+ catches 1,200 yards and 12 TDs.

Production dipped as a sophomore due to a suspension and few injuries, but that won’t scare many teams off. Great talent who can be a number 1 receiver in the NFL.

  • Dynamic receiver who is a threat to take it to the house on any touch
  • Great awareness and instincts for a receiver
  • Solid hands and great speed, can stretch the field
  • Has the ability to be a number 1 receiver you can build your offense around
  • With Hopkins gone Watkins has chance to put up huge numbers with Boyd this upcoming season
  • Clean route runner who finds a way to get open
  • Has proven he can make plays out of the backfield
  • Will be battling to be the first receiver off the board in 2014
